  1. The Removed…… all though Zemogin is a close second just because you were so pulled out of the norm there and pulled it off. 🙂 I just love this month btw….. I’ll be sad when it’s over… however, it will be interesting to see what others send you for the next challenge. (I told Britt I should try something because, hey, if I can act….. I can probably write too. 🙂 NOT!)

  2. The Removed. Sad, yet with an uplifting ending. Hopeful. Good start of a resolution to the conflict. Second place goes to Zernogin, because it’s hilarious, in a Hitchhiker’s Guide kind of way.

    • Yup. The Removed is another one I want to keep working on. I think there’s just so much there…

Dude, did you just reference Hitchhiker’s and one of my stories in the same place? Wow. That made my day.

  3. I liked Broken and Empty,… well, o.k. not in a warm fuzzy way. I thought that the dialog was very well done, very realistic to the situation.

  4. Wow. I’m having a really hard time choosing between Shunned, Broken and Empty and Runaway. Great collection this week, the sci-fi was hilarious too.

But….I think I’ll have to vote for Shunned.

  5. This was the hardest week so far…so many good ones, Susie! I’m going with Zernogin just because it’s so different, and hilarious!

  6. Again, Susie, the depth to which you take your characters is… ugh… it’s just so moving. My vote is for The Removed. The honesty of the thoughts, that’s what really did it for me. And the turn at the end. To realize that you have more in common with a presumed enemy than you thought, love the wisdom. I really liked the fun of Brian’s story and Betsy’s hit me, too. And as I was reading Shunned I was picturing Mad Men.

    • Thanks, Annette! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I haven’t seen Mad Men…I’ll have to check it out. I’ve heard it’s a well written show.

Thank you for saying that about my characters. Sometimes I have this irrational remorse for making them experience so much…then remember that they aren’t real. (writers can be kind of insane sometimes)

      • Thanks 😉 And yes, Mad Men has only won the emmy for best drama every year! And I feel ya… artists/musicians are insane, too. And their depth is what makes them real/relatable, so don’t question it. If only people would be so honest…

  7. This just gets harder and harder…so many FANTASTIC stories to choose from. This week I’m having a difficult time deciding between like 4 of them! Honestly, I’m gonna vote for the one that I think I would be most likely to pick up and read FIRST and I think it would be….Shunned. Yep. I’m sticking with that one. 🙂
